400 trains a day in the new PKP Intercity schedule
A new timetable for PKP Intercity trains comes into effect on December 11. New modern trains and more international connections are PKP InterCity's strategic keys for the upcoming year.
According to the new timetable, an average of 400 trains will operate daily. Brand new and modernized trains will systematically appear on the tracks, increasing travel comfort. There will be an increase in the share of InterCity among trains running from/to Warsaw, Krakow, Poznań, Łódź, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Olsztyn, and Kielce.
For the constantly growing number of passengers of PKP InterCity, modern trains they use to travel are becoming an everyday experience. Since 2016, we have been investing in modernizing the train fleet, and the results are clearly visible - we increase the number of connections operated by comfortable trains year by year. It is important that the novelties in our offer also include international trains. The connection to Vilnius may become very popular - says Marek Chraniuk, President of the Management Board of PKP Intercity.
The new timetable will also include more Express InterCity Premium (EIP) connections from Warsaw to Gdynia and Krakow.
A novelty in the timetable will be the connection between Kraków and Vilnius - the capital city of Lithuania. The IC "Hańcza" train will operate the route, which currently runs between Krakow and Suwałki.
Residents of Poznań will gain an additional connection to Warsaw and Berlin. Traveling from Krakow to Prague will also be more convenient, thanks to the TLK Galicja train route extension.
