LOT Polish Airlines has entered into a codeshare agreement with Italian carrier ITA Airways, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers flying between Poland and Italy. Under the new arrangement, travelers can book their entire journey—including connecting flights—on a single ticket, benefitting from unified baggage policies and fare conditions. This streamlined approach simplifies travel and expands destination choices.
Through the partnership, LOT gains access to ten additional Italian cities, including Florence, Catania, Naples, and Turin, complementing its existing routes to Milan, Venice, and Rome. In return, ITA Airways passengers will be able to fly to Warsaw and beyond via LOT’s extensive network. Frequent flyers will also benefit, as Miles & More members can now earn and redeem miles on ITA Airways flights.
The codeshare deal aligns with LOT’s strategic goals of expanding its route network and improving service quality. Robert Ludera, Director of Network Planning at LOT, emphasized that this cooperation enhances competitiveness and delivers tangible benefits to travelers. Joerg Eberhart, CEO of ITA Airways, highlighted the agreement as a step forward in strengthening economic and tourism ties between Poland and Italy, while showcasing Italy’s hallmark service excellence on a global stage.
The timing of the partnership is especially relevant as ITA Airways prepares to join the Star Alliance in 2026. This move is expected to further integrate both airlines into a global framework, offering passengers a broader range of benefits and seamless connectivity.
The new codeshare flights are available for booking from April 10, 2025, through all LOT and ITA Airways sales channels, including lot.com, the LOT Contact Center, and LOT Travel offices.
This strategic alliance between the two national carriers reinforces their presence in the European market and opens up new, attractive travel opportunities for passengers across both countries.
