LOT once again among the most punctual airlines in Europe

Punctuality remains a key factor in assessing the quality of airline services. In 2024, LOT Polish Airlines ranked among the ten most punctual carriers in Europe for the second consecutive year. Compared to 2023, when it secured fourth place, this year's ninth position represents a slight decline but still reflects the airline's high operational standards.

According to the annual report by Cirium, a company specializing in aviation market analysis, the punctuality ranking covers three categories of carriers: global airlines, major regional airlines, and low-cost carriers (LCC). As a key European airline, LOT is classified in the regional category. The assessment criterion is the percentage of flights that arrived at the gate or parking position no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival time. Charter flights are not included in the ranking.

In the 2024 ranking, the most punctual airlines in Europe were Iberia Express (84.69%) and Iberia (81.58%) from Spain. Scandinavian carrier SAS secured third place (81.40%), followed closely by Vueling (81.20%) and Norwegian (79.23%). LOT ranked ninth, achieving a punctuality rate of 77.72% with 101,000 flight operations. Notably, the Polish airline appeared in the top ten of the monthly punctuality rankings in February, March, April, May, June, and July, even reaching the top three in March and April.

Analyzing last year's results, a slight decline in LOT's ranking is evident. In 2023, the airline appeared in Cirium's monthly top ten rankings 11 times and secured fourth place in the annual summary. In April and June of that year, it even led the ranking with punctuality rates of 89.25% and 82.72%, respectively. The absence of LOT in the top ten for seven consecutive months this year may raise concerns, especially since adhering to schedules is a key factor in passenger satisfaction assessments. On the other hand, the overall improvement in punctuality among Europe's top airlines highlights the increasing competitiveness of the market.

Nevertheless, LOT remains one of the most reliable carriers on the continent, as confirmed by its strong performance in annual punctuality rankings.
