PLL LOT Flight Cancellations Due to Strike in Belgium
PLL LOT has announced the cancellation of five flights due to a general strike planned for March 31 in Belgium. The decision affects one flight from Warsaw to Brussels and four return flights. The airline has assured that it remains in contact with passengers to facilitate rebooking options.
The strike will impact both Brussels-Zaventem Airport and Charleroi Airport. Authorities at both airports have decided to suspend all passenger flight operations on that day. Travelers have been advised not to go to the airports.
The protest is related to reforms pushed by the Belgian government, including an increase in the retirement age and changes to the wage indexation system. Trade unions have deemed these measures a threat to workers' rights and have announced widespread protest actions.
