Thailand Introduces Changes to Visa Regulations

Tajlandia wprowadza zmiany w przepisach wizowych

Thailand has announced a reduction in the maximum visa-free stay for citizens of 93 countries, including Poland. Instead of the previous 60 days, travelers will now be allowed to stay in the country for 30 days. This change comes in response to abuses of the system, particularly cases where individuals declared tourist visits but engaged in illegal employment.

Minister of Sports and Tourism, Sorawong Thienthong, stated that an extension of up to 30 additional days will be possible, but each case will be subject to the approval of an immigration officer. Further details on the new regulations will be provided after the official announcement.

According to government representatives, the change should not significantly impact tourism, as most visitors typically stay in Thailand for two to three weeks. However, industry experts express concerns that the new rules may limit long-term stays, particularly for digital nomads and retirees.
