Air France. New version of Business Class
New Business Class for Air France
Air France is undergoing a process of modernizing its Business Class on intercontinental flights, which is set to be completed by 2023. Customers of the five-star French airline will travel in elegantly designed cabins, surrounded by comfort, design, and noble materials. Currently, the new cabins are available for flights to/from New York, Dakar, Rio de Janeiro, and Johannesburg. After the fleet modernization of Boeing B777s, all long-haul Air France aircraft will be equipped with comfortable Business Class seats that convert into perfectly flat beds. The design of the new seats and cabin layout is based on the proven concept of 3 x P: Full flat, Full privacy, and Full freedom. Learn more about the Business Class cabin >>.
Refined French cuisine
The delights of the palate are a very important element of Air France's onboard product. For years, Air France has served as an ambassador of French gastronomy, promoting the flavors of France on its aircraft and ensuring that the finest French chefs, whose renown is confirmed by Michelin stars, cook for their premium customers. The experience is complemented by carefully selected French wines.
Environmental responsibility
Currently, Air France is modifying its onboard service to minimize its carbon footprint and environmental impact. The airline has committed to introducing menus on all flights from Paris, across all classes, where dairy, eggs, and meat will come exclusively from France, and fish only from responsible, certified fisheries. A systematically varied selection of vegetarian dishes, fully prepared in France, will also be introduced.
Preselection of dishes against food waste
Furthermore, to prevent food waste, Air France has introduced the option of preselecting hot meals, encouraging Business Class passengers to do so before departure. This solution combines customer choice with more rational consumption. The airline also continuously strives to minimize the amount of waste onboard, through recycling and the elimination of 90% of single-use plastic items, a goal it aims to achieve this year. To accomplish this, Air France is introducing dishes and other necessary onboard service items made from environmentally friendly materials such as cellulose or waste from sugarcane. Additionally, durable items and equipment that are no longer suitable for use onboard are donated to charitable causes.
For its environmentally responsible onboard service, Air France received the "IFSA Best Inflight Food or Beverage" award from APEX.
Relaxation at the airport
Business Class passengers can start their journey with a moment of relaxation even before boarding the aircraft. Dedicated airport lounges await Air France customers. Some of these lounges, in addition to comfortable seating, workspaces, and refreshments, offer additional amenities such as SPA zones, where passengers can enjoy special treatments to prepare their skin for a long journey. Recently, a SPA was launched at New York's JFK Airport, which operates within the Air France lounge and offers treatments in collaboration with the French beauty brand - Clarins. Similar services are also available to travelers at Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Air France with five stars
In October 2022, Air France was ranked among the five-star airlines for the first time in the global ranking developed annually by APEX. The award is a unique recognition for the carrier, including for the comfort of seats, onboard service, quality of catering, inflight entertainment, and Wi-Fi on aircraft. The stars were awarded based on passenger surveys, in which over a million flights and nearly 600 airlines worldwide were evaluated. Air France is also the recipient of 4 awards in the Skytrax ranking..
