Starting December 6, 2023 and for the next free months, as part of the current winter edition of its SWISS Taste of Switzerland in-flight food and beverage programme, guests on long-haul flights in SWISS First, Business and Premium Economy departing from Zurich and Geneva, will be treated to exclusive menu selections inspired by the cuisine of the Canton Obwalden. These delectable dishes were thoughtfully created by Michéle Müller from Kempinski Palace Engelberg. Nestled in the Central Swiss Alps, the hotel is a proud member of the esteemed Kempinski Group and boasts a remarkable 14 GaultMillau points.
Culinary delights from Obwalden
First Class
SWISS First guests can start with Ham Hock Aspic with horseradish mousse or Cream of Parsnip Soup. The main course offers a choice between Veal Fillet with rösti and mushrooms or Salmon Trout with beurre noisette. The dessert is an oven-baked apple with pecan crumble.
Business Class
In SWISS Business, the starter is Roast Beef with pickled vegetables, followed by a choice between Beef Tenderloin or Pikeperch for the main course. The meal concludes with Carrot Cake featuring mascarpone cream and carrot gel.
Premium Economy
Premium Economy passengers on SWISS flights will enjoy a three-course meal influenced by the Obwalden region. The meal comprises marinated chicken with honey served alongside a lentil ragout, Obwalden cheese, and a dessert featuring chocolate gingerbread paired with red wine pear compote.
