New cabins A320 from 2025
Modernization of A320
In the spring of 2025, Lufthansa will begin the modernization of its Airbus A320s. The German carrier currently operates 38 aircraft in its fleet, serving short and medium-haul routes. The new cabin is intended to provide greater comfort for passengers, additional legroom, larger luggage bins, and other functionalities.
More space for passengers and luggage
One key change that the new cabins will introduce is additional legroom. Lufthansa will offer seats from the Italian manufacturer Geven in the refreshed A320s. The ergonomic design of the new seats will generate extra space through the seat layout itself. The new cabin will also impact the capacity of luggage bins. The overhead compartments will be able to accommodate up to twice as much carry-on luggage. The additional space will be made possible by arranging suitcases vertically along the longer side.
USB ports and phone holders
Modern cabins will also be equipped with USB ports at each seat. Another convenience will be tablet and smartphone holders. Passengers will be able to use their personal electronic devices freely without having to hold them or place them on a table.
