Three properties belonging to Hotele Warszawskie Syrena (HWS) -Polonia Palace, Metropol and MDM - have been positively evaluated during the certification process and have gained the prestigious ecological certification, the Green Key.
The Green Key certificate represents a renowned international standard of excellence in environmental matters for the tourism industry. In Poland, it is awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which aims to promote environmentally friendly practices and sustainable development in the tourism sector.
The mission of FEE is to increase awareness of environmental issues and to promote innovative solutions to minimize the negative impact on the natural environment. Through education and innovation, it seeks to change the behavior of tourists, staff, and tourism service providers.
The Green Key certification is a recognition of the efforts made by establishments that strive to operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Environmental policy is becoming an increasingly important factor for customers when choosing a hotel, making possession of the certificate a significant asset for tourism facilities.
Paweł Lewtak, a member of the HWS board, emphasizes the importance of the Green Key certification for the hotel group. Thanks to the collaboration of dedicated employees, both mandatory and additional certification criteria have been met. Long-standing ecological practices implemented in the hotels have proven to be in line with Green Key standards, facilitating the certification process.
