Flying Blue is the loyalty program of the Air France & KLM group, designed for people who travel regularly by plane. Established in 2005, Flying Blue has a long history of combining high service standards with flexibility to meet the changing needs of passengers.

Participation in the Program

Membership in the Flying Blue program involves collecting miles for flights taken with Air France, KLM, and partner airlines. Participation in the program requires prior registration. The miles accumulated in your account can be used for rewards, upgrades to higher travel classes, increased baggage allowances, and access to airport lounges.

Membership levels

Depending on the number of miles collected, participants in the Flying Blue program can attain different membership statuses.

The Explorer Level guarantees the basic level of membership, available right after completing the registration process. By booking more flights, participants can earn Experience Points (XP) and achieve a higher status. For every EUR spent, they earn 4 miles and receive a 10% discount on the first paid checked baggage.

The Silver Level offers additional benefits starting at 100 Experience Points (XP). Travelers earn 6 miles for every EUR spent. At the airport, Silver level provides priority check-in, baggage drop-off, and boarding. Travelers can also select standard seats for free 24 hours before departure. Another benefit is one free additional piece of checked baggage on flights with Air France & KLM or partner airlines.

Members with a Gold card (180 XP) gain even more benefits and privileges, including SkyPriority, which ensures priority check-in at the airport. With Gold status, members can select standard seats for free 72 hours before departure and gain lounge access with one guest (traveling on the same flight operated by KLM, Air France, Air Mauritius, China Southern Airways, GOL, Qantas, Virgin Atlantic, or SkyTeam partner airlines). Travelers are also entitled to one free additional piece of checked baggage on flights with Air France & KLM or partner airlines.

The Platinum Level guarantees SkyPriority service, including priority check-in, baggage drop-off, and boarding at the airport. With a Platinum card, members can select preferred seats for free and take one additional piece of checked baggage on flights operated by Air France, KLM, and partner airlines. Travelers with this high membership status can invite one guest to the airport lounge (traveling on the same flight operated by KLM, Air France, Air Mauritius, China Southern Airways, GOL, Qantas, Virgin Atlantic, or SkyTeam partner airlines). Platinum status holders also have access to 24/7 assistance.
