Flight with a Transfer in Munich and Frankfurt
Are you traveling with a transfer at one of the two largest transfer hubs in Germany? Check out how to prepare for your journey with a transfer in Munich and Frankfurt. The new instructional video from the Lufthansa Group aims to help travelers better organize themselves at the airport. It explains step-by-step where to go after landing depending on your planned travel destination. The videos will be available from September 2024 on Lufthansa flights in the inflight entertainment program on intercontinental flights and on the FlyNet portal on short-haul flights equipped with internet access.
Before the flight
To ensure a peaceful and comfortable flight, it is worth preparing adequately for the journey. First, you should check the entry requirements for the destination country, including travel documents and their validity. Within the European Union, we can travel using an ID card, but to the United Kingdom or the USA, we will need a passport. Some countries in Asia and the Middle East also require a visa. Before the trip, check the baggage limits applicable to your route and check-in online.
Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled flight. Checked luggage can be checked in at airport drop-off kiosks and take advantage of the self check-in. In the next step, we will go through security screening and proceed to the designated gate according to the information displayed on the boards.
After landing. Baggage claim
Immediately after landing, travelers should follow signs directing them to the Exit, and to the baggage claim for checked baggage. Luggage from a given flight is unloaded onto an assigned baggage carousel. The number of the appropriate baggage carousel can be checked in the app or on the airport information boards.
Transfer to the train
If, after landing at Munich International Airport, you continue your journey by train, head towards Terminal 1 and follow the signs with the S symbol.
Taxi and Bus Stops
After collecting your baggage, the next step in your journey is to find the taxi stand or bus stop. These points are located in front of the terminal building.
