Qatar Airways Launches New Route to Toronto
Qatar Airways has announced the launch of a new route to Toronto, further expanding its presence in the North American market. This will be the airline's second destination in Canada, in addition to its existing daily service to Montreal. The first flight to Ontario's capital is scheduled for December 11th this year.
The new route will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, accommodating 354 passengers in two service classes: business and economy. Flights will depart from Doha on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 9:50 AM, arriving in Toronto at 3:55 PM. The return flight is scheduled to leave Canada at 8:00 PM and land in Doha at 4:30 PM the next day.
The route's launch follows a recent renegotiation of the bilateral agreement between Canada and Qatar, allowing Qatar Airways to increase its services to the country. This new addition expands the carrier’s North American network, which now includes 14 destinations in the region. Previously, Air Canada offered a direct service from Toronto to Doha but suspended it in 2022 due to economic reasons.
