SWISS and the Taste of Switzerland: The Canton of Aargau

Onboard SWISS to the Canton of Aargau

SWISS has launched the next edition of its culinary program on board its aircraft. This time, the Taste of Switzerland will feature the Canton of Aargau. The new edition will be available from September to November 2025. Starting from September 4, travelers in SWISS First, Business, and Premium Economy on long-haul flights from Geneva and Zurich had the chance to savor the culinary creations of Manuel Steigmeier. Steigmeier became a head chef at the young age of 22 when he took over the FAHR restaurant in Sulz, in the Canton of Aargau. After seven years of hard work, his team was awarded the most prestigious culinary honors: a Michelin star and 17 points in Gault Millau.

Culinary Creations in First Class

Guests in SWISS First will begin their journey with a starter of trout tartare with dill mayonnaise, yogurt mousse, and cucumber. For the main course, Manuel Steigmeier will serve braised veal cheeks with mascarpone polenta. The vegetarian option includes fried cod with chimichurri sauce, served with creamy fregola. For dessert, a classic chocolate financier will be served.

Taste of Aargau in Business Class

Travelers in SWISS Business Class will start their flight with marinated rainbow trout. Main course options include Boeuf Stroganoff, served with spätzli, beets, and cream, or fried zander with dumplings and broccoli. The meal will be finished off with chestnut cake, topped with vanilla-flavored whipped cream and mandarin-kalamansi gel.

The Taste of Switzerland in Premium Economy

In SWISS Premium Economy, a three-course menu has been prepared, where guests can enjoy Habsburger Ritterkäse and Aarenberger cheeses. For dessert, a traditional carrot cake with crème diplomate will be served.
