New intercontinental routes
Among the new intercontinental routes offered by Lufthansa Group are flights that will also be available during the summer season. With Lufthansa, we will fly from Frankfurt, for example, to Minneapolis and Raleigh/Durham, and from Munich, connections to Seattle, Vancouver, and Johannesburg will continue. In the winter schedule, Lufthansa will also offer flights to Sao Paulo. Austrian Airlines will extend flights to Boston, as will SWISS to Washington DC, and Brussels Airlines to Nairobi. Discover Airlines will still offer flights to Marrakech, and additionally to Hurghada in Egypt and Tulum in Mexico. With Eurowings, winter trips can be planned to Dubai, Cairo, and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Edelweiss will offer flights to Djerba in Tunisia and Amman in Jordan.
European routes for winter 2024/2025
Among the European routes, there are also some new destinations for the winter season. Austrian Airlines will fly, for example, to the picturesque Ivalo in Norway, where you can admire the Northern Lights and book a stay at an ice hotel. Flights to Finland will also be offered by Lufthansa and Edelweiss. Connections with a transfer in Frankfurt or Zurich will be available to Rovaniemi. Edelweiss and Discover Airlines will also fly to Kittilä, another Finnish city in Lapland. The Austrian Airlines network will also continue to include flights to Bremen in Germany and Tbilisi in Georgia, known from the summer schedule.
Brussels Airlines will take us, among other destinations, to Athens and Fuerteventura, part of the Canary Islands archipelago. The Spanish islands, due to their mild climate and high temperatures, are one of the most popular destinations chosen during the European winter season.
With Lufthansa, we will also fly in winter to Cluj-Napoca, which stands out in the European market as one of the main IT hubs. The city is home to many technology companies, startups, global corporations, and incubators. Connections to Cluj-Napoca will also be available in the SWISS schedule as a continuation from the summer season.
During winter 2024/2025, Discover Airlines will have the most sunny destinations in its schedule. The carrier, which specializes in connections to tourist resorts within the Lufthansa Group, will take us to the Canary Islands: Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura. The schedule will also include Majorca, Ibiza, Crete, and Madeira.
