Chopin Airport Sets Record: 21 Million Passengers in 2024

On December 26, 2024, Warsaw Chopin Airport celebrated a historic milestone by welcoming its 21-millionth passenger. This extraordinary achievement came just three weeks after surpassing the 20-million mark on December 6.

Throughout 2024, the airport served approximately 21.3 million passengers, marking a 15% increase compared to the previous year. Key achievements include:

• Over 2 million passengers per month from June to September.

• A record daily passenger count of 78,248 on August 2.

• Three significant milestones: 19 million passengers (November 18), 20 million (December 6), and 21 million (December 26).

These results highlight the need for further infrastructure investments to meet growing market demands. Planned modernization includes expanding Non-Schengen facilities and increasing the airport's capacity to 30 million passengers annually by 2029. The total cost of the investment is estimated at 1.6 billion PLN.
